In my past years of experiencing different cultures & tasting unique cuisines, I must say the United States is one of the most diverse nations with respect for people, culture, history and most of all food. I feel like the American regional cuisine is a melting pot of diverse influences. Or, you can look at it as a mixed salad, lots of different textures and flavors yet it all comes together in the end.
This book is the entity of many diverse flavors, textures and ethnic backgrounds that brings a variety of bold characteristics. What inspired me the most while writing this book is how a simple recipe evolves along with the community and with each adaption the dish absorbs and reflect the environment. For example the Philly cheesesteak is a south Philadelphia staple, another one is New York cheesecake, need I say more?
As a chef we are always inspired by food, as for me I love to think outside the box when it comes to food, and I would like to say this book reflects just that. So please entertain your family & friends with each recipe and indulge in the cultural journey.
